120 20: What We Need To See More Of In The Digital Age

Seeing is believing, so the saying goes.

Seeing what, believing in what?

We believe certain actions were taken to produce certain results.

The work we produce gives others a reason to believe in us.

However, it’s easy to make-believe with today’s social media culture.

It’s thousands of pictures with thousands of words each day.

A clutter we can’t control, one we may need to be rid of.

Because it has become a snowball, it’s getting bigger as it rolls off the hill.

One can only hope it is not the only thing we know how to grow as it reaches for the bottom.

At a rapid pace, all of us continue adding to this avalanche hoping to be seen.

And a peculiar gap appears, for real emotions and thoughtful ideas and practical solutions.

Perhaps the action we rather need to take in order to slow it down is to choose to see and to nurture our person to person connections.

In as much as we need social distancing and self-isolation.

The human connection remains our strongest medium, a need that only real people can satisfy.

So let’s use our work to see, connect and serve real people and their needs.
