036 20: Follow Their Story

Growing up you’d remember seeing products that were used for other things than their intended use,

People make cotton buds out of a piece of tissue, use toothpaste to plaster skin burns, vinegar as a surface cleaner or cover holes and marks with nail polish. And many other things you’d add to the list.

What we learn from product hacks is that the customer’s story is a place where great things happen.

A rule of thumb successful businesses go by is to design better products and services by understanding what customers expect and how they want to experience them. They succeed when the experience of using the product or service meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations of it.

Products and services people use and keep coming back to create a change in the story already known.

How the customer expects the product to work and how they expect to feel when they use it, is as important as what the product does or doesn’t do once it reaches their use.

The best place to be at any given point would be in the customer’s story. Successful businesses create and innovate as it unfolds because that’s where the magic happens.
